Roan Mountain State Park
spans 600 acres, straddling the North Carolina and Tennessee state lines! In mid-June, the Rhododendron Gardens host the world’s largest natural rhododendron gardens in bloom! Moses Cone Memorial Park & Parkway Craft Center
covers 3,500 acres and includes two trout fishing lakes and over 25 miles of hiking trails. The Parkway Craft Center in the Manor House has demonstrations of craft making and handmade crafts by Appalachian artists featuring over 300 artists, clay, wood, glass, natural materials, leather, metal, jewelry, fiber, paper, craft demonstrations.
